Rousselle Family

Strong. Enduring. Inspiration. Positive. Beautiful. Love.

Just a few words that come to mind when I think of this amazing family. Mike and Brett are our first cousins, although Derek sees Mike as more of a brother or best friend. This family is undoubtedly the strongest family I have ever met. Their story goes like this. . . .

Mike and Brett fell in love and got married. Then they welcomed beautiful Montanna into the world. She is such a sweet and stunning girl, just like her mom. A few years later, after trying for awhile, they welcomed baby Jaxson into the world. This little boy was so loved and looked just like his daddy. When Jaxson was only a couple of months old, his bowel twisted and he suddenly passed on to be with the Heavenly Father. No other word comes to my mind to describe this time in their life but, DEVASTATING. However, when I look back and picture Mike and Brett in my mind during this time, the word that comes to mind is, STRENGTH.
After the loss of baby Jaxson, Mike and Brett wanted to give Montanna another sibling. After a long time of trying, and an eptopic pregnancy, they decided to give adoption a try. That is when sweet baby Jonas entered their lives. When baby Jonas arrived, it seemed that the dark cloud that loomed over their heads was starting to break apart and the sun was started to shine on them again. I know that might sound cheesy, but that is exactly how I saw it.
Then, one year ago this week, Michael was in a terrible accident while working and was rushed to the Calgary hospital. While fighting for his life, we all prayed, and prayed, and prayed. At that time, the word that came to all of our minds was, WHY?
That word was quickly followed by HALLELUJAH! Michael being the strong man that he is, fought hard and lived through an electrocution that should have killed him. Although he did lose an arm and a leg, and is still going through surgeries and physical therapy today, the word HALLELUJAH still rings in my mind. He is with us today. He can be the father, husband, son, brother, friend and cousin that he was meant to be. His wife Brett is by far one of the strongest women I have ever met. She stood tall through all of these trials with her faith never faltering in the slightest.
I am honoured to be a part of this family. I love you guys so much. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all.
